This looks well, thank you!
A couple of comments:

  • I think we should just call it "xeye"
  • The empty banner space at the top can be reduced imo
  • Make sure to update the copyright info in the templates, add yourself there

Can you update it accordingly?

I've been using this theme for two months.A good theme!

Replying to jow:

- I actually don't like this name ether. I don't even want to name it by my nickname, I named it lucixeye only because I don't have a good name for it. Let me pick a nicer one.

- Let me try something more on the designing of the banner. em... like just remove it?.

- I actually put my name in there. But because It is actually modified from the theme "openwrt.org", I just put "redesigned by XEyE" there, although it is way different till now.

And yes. I will update it accordingly. This is actually the 19th version of this theme.
Thank you for looking into it. I will post my work later.

just asking if you like this kind of design. (Let's just leave the name as XEyE for now).

I think the header with "OpenWrt? - XEyE" can be remved completely, instead you can make it a single narrow line that contains "Uptime: ... | WAN IPv4: ... | Memory: ... | Load: ..." horizontally arranged... what do you think?

I think you should remove those 70px padding and margin on the right, bottom and left area, because if somebody has a smaller screen then it reduces the usable space.
Because of this, the 1124px minimum width is not a really good thing too.

The theme cuts the firewall status page on the right.

I think the tabmenu-lv1/tabmenu-lv2 color should be different.

And there are some text/content placement errors in the tables.
On some places the content is on the top dotted border and and on other places it is on the left border.

I think the header should be removed completely.

I did some work based on your idea and added a text logo. Take a look if you like it.

There was no that padding at all at the beginning. Some friends think it looks better if there is some kind of padding,so I put it on. I will think about that.

the 1124px mini-width is adjustable. It does not have to be that wide. Let me try out the real mini-width to keep it looking good on this theme.

the menu-lv1 and lv2's colors are different, althought just a little bit.

I would like to monitor the status of my router all the time. That is why I put a status bar there. I personally would like to save it there, or maybe give it a new design.

I think I have to take a look at the rest of those problems. Would you like to post some screenshots please? because some of them are tested on my IE and Chrome and there are no such problems. Just email me if you don't mind.

Thank you for you input.

I think you should set the padding to a smaller one, like in the default theme.

If you use the min-width parameter in the body, then it will be at least that wide on all pages.
Try to resize the browser window to smaller on the default theme and you will see that in most cases you don't have to scroll horizontally.

About the tabs coloring, I meant the active and hover state color is the same and it messes up the menu layout.

The firewall status page problem is under the latest Firefox 4.0.1 and under IE it works fine.

I think any logo sould be removed, because it is useless and a waste of space.

And to monitor the status of the router there is the new status page and if you have already pointed your browser to the web interface, then you are almost there.

Thank you for your screenshots.

any logo can be removed. no problem. (please make sure we are talking based on same version  http://i.imgur.com/pu9Qo.jpg )But the space does not have to be perfectly used with no wast at all right? if that, the vertical menu itself is not a good thing ether. I made this theme at beginning just for bigger buttons so that I can click them with less mistakes on my cellphone(Maybe I just need a slim thumb:) ). And it may give people some other kind of option.

I will make the padding smaller.

Yes. the hover state color is the same. I will try to make it different.

And please try the firewall page as default theme on your firefox. If it cuts the list too, it has to have some reason making them leave it there. or they would make it perfect.

Thanks again.
and another screenshot which with 30px padding and no logo.

Replying to XEyE:

Yes, the buttons should be a little smaller, too.

You should now eliminate the min-width parameter and do it in a better way, like in the default theme.

The firewall status page problem is just with your theme, because in the default theme if you resize the browser window smaller, then it sticks out from the maincontent and you are able to scroll horizontally.

I think you should use only one menubar line for status info if you really want it.
And if somebody has a smaller screen, then wrap the text to a new line.

you are very appreciated for all of these advices, although I might keep some my own and my other friends' things on this theme. Because it is a another theme.

I think I definitly will smaller the min-width but prob wont just remove it. default theme is better for those people having very small screens. or just do rm /www/luci-static/openwrt.org/*.css. this "theme" will meet all their needs. it is simple, 100% space used and fast.

I've tried out the firewall page on default theme. It is there too.

Yes. put the status info on the menu side may be a good idea. I will try it out.

The firewall status page problem is with your theme only.
As I said before in the default theme if you resize the browser window smaller, then it sticks out from the maincontent (it is on your screenshot too), but you are able to scroll horizontally (that's not on your screenshot).
See:  http://imageshack.us/m/600/62/firewallstatuspagescrol.png

But your theme cuts the firewall status page on the right and you can't scroll it horizontally.
See:  http://imageshack.us/m/233/8489/firewallstatuspagecut.png

Try it with Firefox and you will see.

What is the status of this theme? Looks great with efficient use of space. Would love to have it easily available via build-in openwrt opkg install.

How can I install the latest version of this theme? Is there ipk?
