Hello.

perhaps I'm overlooking it, but I seem to have no way with LuCI to alter wireless.radio1.disabled=0 (second radio) on my LinkSys? WRT400N.

Am I not finding the correct sequence of screens or is LuCI lacking understanding of the second interface?

I am willing to test and report back specific results if you desire.

Testing on a wndr3700, second radio is accessable just fine. Defconfig issue on your device?
